DC "journalists," like their repuke brethren in Congress, are fucking idiots

The SCLM, supposedly "in the tank for Obama," are actually still leg-humping the RNC -- so much so that they're totally oblivious to what's happening in the real world. In labelling the rethugs "winners" in the stimulus-plan fight, they are completely at odds with the majority of America-hating Americans:

Pelosi and the Democratic Party are the big winners, scoring a +5. Congressional Dems score a +3.

But contrary to beltway opinion, the republicans are getting hammered. While the Republican Party has only had a net change of -2, those directly involved in the stimulus battle are taking huge hits: McConnell and Boehner at -11, and the Congressional Republicans who are getting such applause from the beltway denizens score a -10.

That's minus. Negative numbers. If they go any lower a new portal could open up in the space-time continuum. Even Republican governors are telling their counterparts on Capitol Hill enough with the boobery already:

Across the country, from California’s Arnold Schwarzenegger to Florida’s Charlie Crist and New England’s Jim Douglas in Vermont and Jodi Rell in Connecticut, Republican governors showed in the stimulus debate that they could be allies with Mr. Obama even as Congressional Republicans continued to take it up the ass from drugged-out bloater Rush Limbaugh.

“Regardless of what your party is, Republican or Democrat, it really doesn’t matter. We have a duty and an obligation to the people who elected us, no matter what our position happens to be, to work together to get through this thing,” said Crist, cradling his huge brass ones.

Indeed.

Charlie Crist has never been a "neo-con/conservative" republican. I have actually been amazed that he's managed to stay afloat in FL as a "republican", considering his general stance on the environment (pro) & big business (he's done his fair share of pissing them off). He's done a few things to satiate the hard-liners when they start foaming at the mouth, but then he usually turns around and does something else very "un-republican" shortly thereafter.

He has always appeared to me to be more interested in the people and the general welfare of the state than of the "party". He's the only person with an "R" after their name that I MIGHT consider voting for one day, if the "D" candidate was distasteful (which nearly happened in the last gubernatorial race here in FL).

"If they go any lower a new portal could open up in the space-time continuum." Great line, Maru!
