Star wars

NASA has pulled a name out of its ass thin air and named its new pod on the International Space Station "Tranquility," denying great American and patriot Stephen Colbert.

The space agency held an online contest to let the public vote for a name. Colbert had urged viewers to write in votes naming it for him, and the agency said Colbert beat out the agency's four suggested options: Serenity, Legacy, MaxiPad and Prevail.

Colbert received more than 230,000 votes out of 1 million, but NASA reserved the right to be the final arbiter.

As a consolation prize to the comedian, NASA is naming its new space station treadmill the Combined Operational Load Bearing External Resistance Treadmill, or COLBERT.

Why does NASA hate America?

So...instead of naming the new pod after a comedian, who got more votes through a democratic voting process, they're gonna name it after an adult diaper.

Heh...shades of Florida, Ohio, and now Minnesota.

The treadmill's not a bad selection though. They should keep some of Colbert's "Wrist Strong" bracelets nearby just in case someone falls off of it (In space, no one can hear you scream).

At least they didn't name the urine recycling station after him.
