Controversy brewing over teabagger speaking engagement at CSU

Your school is suffering from huge cost increases and your students are having trouble getting the classes they need. Do you: c) pay a renowned nitwit over $100,000 to squalk divisive talking points on the university dime.

Students, professors, political scientists, a state senator and other cranially-endowed critics want California State University to reveal how much they're paying Sarah Palin to spout nonsense psuedo-folksy propaganda, which they suspect might be more than $100,000.

The CSU speech will celebrate the university’s 50th year. CSU officials have publicly stated they cannot release the celebrity dumbass’s compensation due to a confidentiality term in her contract. But Sen. Leland Yee (D) of San Francisco , who chairs of the committee on public records and open meeting laws, says the public – including students – have a legal right to the information.

Whatever the objections, many say they are exacerbated by tough economic times. A national day of action saw student rallies that began in California spread nationwide in protest of cuts in education. There were campus strikes and sit-ins.

“Our students are being slammed by enormous fee hikes while cuts mean they can’t get the classes they need,” says Lillian Taiz, president of the California Faculty Association. “This resistance to transparency is another slap in the face. CSU executives need to show more respect for the people they supposedly serve.”
Why does Sarah Palin hate our children?

Republican policies have bankrupted the eighth-largest economy in the world; they have also destroyed California's system of public higher education, which had been one of the best in this country.
That California, in it's current state, would spend six figures for an anniversary speaker on the likes of Britney Spears--there is, rationally, no difference between the two women/they are pop stars--is criminal.
I am probably being unkind to Ms. Spears: she has had a passport longer than Ms. Palin, and has certainly seen more of the world than she; she may well know more about economics, politics, history; she certainly knows more about geography. Ms. Spears may well be her better as a parent.
Riding to work down Waterman Street in Wichita, Kansas, the other day; past the new public/private venture called "Intrust Bank Arena"--emphasis on the private--I saw, on the two-story high videoscreen which fronts Waterman, Sarah Palin. I nearly crashed my velocipede.
It will be a sell-out; there are many more than 15,000 idiots in Wichita, KS. To our credit: With the conviction of Scott Roeder, Dr, George Tiller's assassin--and his getting 50-to-life instead of 25--we have proved that terrorists can successfully be prosecuted in criminal court in this country.
