Terrorists!!!!

Just Take it All.

After decades of forcing through tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, again and again Republicans are going all in promoting the bullshit that there is a deficit crisis.
Here is how it works:

1) Cut taxes for the rich and corporations (corporate stock is mostly owned by the top 1%); big deficits result.
2) Claim a deficit emergency and use their domination of corporate-owned media to whip the public into a panic, creating the appearance of demand for corporate-approved "solutions." Manipulate the appearance of consensus.
3) With taxes and military “off the table” push through cuts in the things government does for We, the People.

Repeat as often as needed to create a plutocracy.

Today's "debt crisis" is the culmination of the long-term "starve the beast" strategy from an organized corporate-conservative movement. By cutting taxes for the wealthy they have starved the government, created massive debt (guess where the interest payments go).

Ain't Capitalism grand?

Rudely Speaking

The Rude Pundit

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's eyes have the glazed over look of a man who just jacked off to a Facebook album of your niece's fifth birthday party. Actually, that's not accurate because that assumes that Walker would try to hide his proclivities. Indeed, Walker seems more like the kind of guy who'd walk into that party with a Koch Industries dildo in his ass and tell everyone to watch while he yanked it to the musical chairs songs. God help the little girl who is in the last chair. For what else do you say about a governor whose official website has a press release titled "Walker Calls Democrat Legislators Back Into State." You got that? Not "Democratic," but the politicized, insulting "Democrat" as adjective. It's like getting a note from your boss on company stationery that calls you a "cocksucker."
Gaaawwwd, read the whole thing.

Stupidity at it's Finest

Apparently recovering from a meth/crack binge with aging hookers, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie actually said:

"[T]he unions are trying to break the middle class in New Jersey."
So unfuckingbelievable that I'll leave the commenting to you giuze.

It's Not all About Unions

Let's put this shit into proper perspective:

If the earnings of those thirteen top earning hedge-fund managers were taxed as ordinary income, the revenues generated would pay the salaries and benefits of 300,000 teachers. Who is more valuable to our society – thirteen hedge-fund managers or 300,000 teachers? Let’s make the question even simpler. Who is more valuable: One hedge fund manager or one teacher?
A hedge fund manager has worth?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) wants to see his home state of Nevada end legal prostitution, which he believes may be an impediment to economic development:
"Nevada needs to be known as the first place for innovation and investment -- not as the last place where prostitution is still legal."
We'll see how that goes.

Why Doesn't He Just Threaten to Hold His Breath?

What a surprise! It seems that one of the more popular ways for Rushthuglicans to accomplish what they want is by taking hostages:

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Mubarak Walker warns that state employees could start receiving layoff notices as early as next week if a bill eliminating collective bargaining rights isn't passed soon. Walker said Tuesday in a statement to The Associated Press that the layoffs wouldn't take effect immediately. He didn't say which workers would be targeted.
The right wingers keep saying that the reason they had to give all those tax cuts to big corporations and the rich (which broke the budget) was because it would stimulate the economy and create jobs. Now he's willing to eliminate jobs just to get his way.
Let us know how THAT works out, Hosni.

Serfin' USA

The massive popular Marxist insurrection uprising in Wisconsin seems to be spreading to Ohio and Michigan.

Michigan union leaders and social justice activists will join with colleagues in Wisconsin and Ohio on Tuesday as the AFL-CIO plans street protests in Lansing against Republican Gov. Rick Snyder's attempt to balance the state budget on the backs of public employees.
Wisconsinstan, Michiganistan, and Ohiostan...what do they all have in common? Voting for a Muslim president. Besides everybody knows that it's an American citizens' God given RIGHT to be completely at the mercy of a corporation! Anything less is fucking COMMUNISM and we can't be having that shit.
Teabag me, already.

Snort!

Why I voted Rushthuglibot via Driftglass

I voted Republican because I think the Confederacy had it just about right.

I voted Republican because I know that I can trust unregulated

I voted Republican because, damn it, we don't need our food inspected, or our streets paved, or clean water, or fire departments.

I voted Republican because I believe that government should police and regulate women's vaginae. Unlike, say, mountaintop mining companies or the entire pharmaceutical industry.

I voted Republican because I only give a shit about deficits...or the constitution...or illegal wars...when there is someone in the White House with a (D) after their name.

I voted Republican because I believe blowjobs are impeachable offenses, but torture, secret prisons and illegal wars are just good, clean fun!

I voted Republican because I believe that somehow, someday, I will join the ranks of the wealthiest 1/10th of 1% of the population that Republicans actually care about.

I voted Republican because its easier than thinking for myself.
Your turn.

Does anybody get this?

Let's give tax breaks to rich ass corporatists and then claim we're in a financial crisis and need deep spending cuts, except for military spending and bailouts for banksters.
To fall for this bullshit charade is pretty much like ignoring reality. Thanks, Teabaggers, you have the right idea, just pay attention to Wisconsin and Ohio and quit being tools.
Together, WE can do this.

Chomsky: Wis. may be ‘start’ of US revolt

Just a brief comment for discussion: The way MSM framed this whole debate has back-fired. They basically are calling the union workers lazy, greedy parasites. Really? Police officers and firefighters? Garbage collectors and state park workers? Teachers?
The corporate media indirectly is saying the hard working people should give up pensions, retirement plans, social security, give all that up just so the elite can skim that money. The very elite who caused the crash.
Good luck with that, asswipes.
It's time.

Sunday talk show favorite and expert on middle east affairs expert John McInsane(R-Dementia) opined recently that colonial acquisition and soon to be 51st state Iraq will be not caught up in the global awakening regional protests. As just about always, He's wrong:

"Unrest continued to spread in Iraq on Thursday, with new protests erupting in several cities and reports from law enforcement officials that private security guards in a city in Kurdistan fired on a group of protesters who tried to storm the political offices of the region's leader."
He and Failin were such a perfect ticket being the foreign affairs experts that they are.

Thousands of Ohio workers are jamming the statehouse to make their voices heard.
Hopefully coming to a state near you soon.

This is What True Democracy Looks Like

Not being abe to stomach the idiot box or anything produced by the corporate media, I'm wondering if this is getting any attention outside of MSNBC.

Wisconsin protesters have increased their already significant, 24-hour-a-day presence inside the Capitol building to over 4,000 strong.

Update: Wisconsin citizens are walking like Egyptians! Good for them, it's time for the rest of us to do the same.

It's Only class War When The Rich Pay Their Fair Share

Tell me how THIS isn't class war being waged by the haves on the have nots:

For poor people on food stamps in Arizona: A state legislator has introduced a bill that would color food stamp cards bright orange. The stated reason is to “prevent fraud”, but the veil comes off pretty quickly:

“If that does concern people that they have a bright orange card, I hope they go get a better education or better jobs and stop using that card,” he said.

Yeah, shaming people is a fine motivation for them to go out and get jobs that aren't there.

Fucknozzles.

Walking Like an Egyptian?

We seem to be making baby steps like an Egyptian with a recent surge across the country in protests, but thanks to the bestest, freest press in the world, you wouldn't know it:

Over the years, Milwaukee Labor Press editor Dominique Paul North has covered a “heck of a lot of protests” in Wisconsin. Last summer, a peace rally in Wisconsin’s inner city drew about 100 people calling for the U.S. to get out of Afghanistan. “There was no media coverage,” he says. “I was the only reporter there.”

The next day, 40 people attended a tea party event in Wisconsin and every local media outlet was there to cover it. “This is what we’ve been seeing over the past year. If there’s a peace rally or a worker’s rights rally, it’s ho hum. You might find a reporter or two. The tea party would gather five people on the corner and there would be coverage.”
Not only has the political tide shifted so far right that being a Rushthuglibot or anybody that swallows the prepubescent bile that they spew should be considered having a mental illness that should be guaranteed to be covered by Obamacare, which, as everyone knows would mean it's death panel time, motherfuckers, but the corporate media plays right along.
Sharia law, bed wetters! Muslim brotherhood!! OOga BOOga!!

Seriously? Do they really think that we are that fucking stupid? Well there are reasons why one would suppose.

Although one would have to watch al Jazeera English to know the answer to know the answer to this game, let's play compare and contrast, via The Rude Pundit
Whereas an Egyptian in Tahrir Square generally says things about how Mubarak has demonstrably repressed the masses of citizens, a teabagger makes sputtering, guttural noises that amount to "Blurgh. Obama. Blurgh," which has about as much of a basis in reality as it does in English syntax and grammar. It's a fascinating phenomenon, one that should probably be studied by linguists, sociologists, and stand-up comedians.

Most of us are better than that.
We should be walking like Egyptians.

Compassionate Conservatism Revisited

The orange hued Boner,

"If some of those jobs are lost so be it. We're broke."
We're broke EXCEPT when it comes to a jet engine to be built in his state for the military that they don't want or need.
The Republican hypocrisy is physically painful. They talked about repealing the "job-killing" Affordable Care Act, but if their agenda kills jobs, it's "so be it"?
The GOP doesn't care about jobs, never did; never will, they don't care about the middle class, never did; never will, the only people's jobs that they care about are their own.

Love the Fetus.......

These subhuman fuckers are getting out of control

A law under consideration in South Dakota would expand the definition of "justifiable homicide" to include killings that are intended to prevent harm to a fetus—a move that could make it legal to kill doctors who perform abortions. The Republican-backed legislation, House Bill 1171, has passed out of committee on a nine-to-three party-line vote, and is expected to face a floor vote in the state's GOP-dominated House of Representatives soon.
Vigilante justice for all! Except, of course, women wishing to control their own uterus. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If one of these rich, white pro-life motherfuckers(yes, they fuck their own mothers) had a daughter who got impregnated by big black Bubba from down in the hood, their precious darling would have an abortion, legal or not, whether she wanted it or not. And Bubba would probably end up disappeared or dead.
And now they want to justify MURDERING a Doctor who performs an abortion???
Pro-life my pale bulbous ass.

Walk like the Egyptians!

More of this, Please

As much as I hate to admit it, I suddenly LOVES me them Green Bay Packers

We know that it is teamwork on and off the field that makes the Packers and Wisconsin great. As a publicly owned team we wouldn't have been able to win the Super Bowl without the support of our fans.

It is the same dedication of our public workers every day that makes Wisconsin run. They are the teachers, nurses and child care workers who take care of us and our families. But now in an unprecedented political attack Governor Walker is trying to take away their right to have a voice and bargain at work.

The right to negotiate wages and benefits is a fundamental underpinning of our middle class. When workers join together it serves as a check on corporate power and helps ALL workers by raising community standards. Wisconsin's long standing tradition of allowing public sector workers to have a voice on the job has worked for the state since the 1930s. It has created greater consistency in the relationship between labor and management and a shared approach to public work.

These public workers are Wisconsin's champions every single day and we urge the Governor and the State Legislature to not take away their rights.

"Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can quietly become a power no government can surpress, a power that can change the world." Howard Zinn

Walk like an Egyptian!

This is a joke, right?

I'm not thinking our Captalist overlords are going to want to see this kind of Government intrusion.

The State Department plans to finance programs like circumvention services, which enable users to evade Internet firewalls, and training for human rights workers on how to secure their e-mail from surveillance or wipe incriminating data from cellphones if they are detained by the police.

Though the policy has been on the drawing board for months, it has new urgency in light of the turmoil in the Arab world, because it will be part of a larger debate over how the United States weighs its alliances with entrenched leaders against the young people inspired by the events in Tunisia and Egypt.
I wouldn't think the knobgobblers at the State Department would know how to get a dialtone on a house phone.
It will be interesting to follow the development of this new Internet freedom policy, especially with the Senate considering a bill allowing the president to turn off the Internet during a cyberattack.
There is more to this story.......

Reasonable Suspicion

Add some racism to a large dose of teh stupid and you get this.

REP. O’BRIEN: My son who’s a Kansas resident, born here, raised here, didn’t qualify for any financial aid. Yet this girl was going to get financial aid. My son was kinda upset about it because he works and pays for his own schooling and his books and everything and he didn’t think that was fair. We didn’t ask the girl what nationality she was, we didn’t think that was proper. But we could tell by looking at her that she was not originally from this country. [...]

REP. GATEWOOD: Can you expand on how you could tell that they were illegal?

REP. O’BRIEN: Well she wasn’t black, she wasn’t Asian, and she had the olive complexion.
Ummm, wouldn't Jesus have an 'olive' complexion? Somehow the Republithugs seem to be regressing and upping the proverbial ante on their stupidity. Sounds like O'Brien is just pissed because she couldn't get some of that socialized big gubmit welfare.
But a darkie did.....unfair.

THAT, in a nutshell is what the fuck is wrong with the humans that infest this cunt tree: I deserve it, but those "others" don't.

Number of House resignations this year: 2.
Number of pieces of legislation signed into law: 0.

Coming Attractions

The GOP Chainsaw Massacre

Republicans propose cutting $1.1 billion from the Department of Energy’s Office of Science, which is the nation’s largest supporter of basic research in the physical sciences. The plan calls for a $1 billion budget cut at the National Institutes of Health, the federal government’s medical research agency. The Centers for Disease Control would see its funding drop by $755 million. Agricultural research would be cut by $246 million.

The spending plan, which will go to the House floor for a vote next week, also calls for eliminating $1 billion in funding for high-speed rail projects, a program that Obama wants to spend $53 billion on over the next six years. Amtrak would face a $224 million budget cut.

Among the other cuts:

* The Department of Energy’s loan-guarantee program, which supports loans for clean-energy projects, would be reduced by $1.4 billion.
* Spending on other energy efficiency and renewable energy programs would be cut by nearly $900 million.
* The Environmental Protection Agency would have $1.6 billion less to spend, making it harder for the agency to proceed with regulations on greenhouse gas emissions.

Appropriators also hacked away at popular, less controversial programs, cutting $600 million in funding that helps localities hire additional police officers and $758 million in food assistance to low-income women and their children. Funding for community health centers would be cut by $1.3 billion, and $2 billion less would be available for job-training programs.
But don't touch our precious war machine!

Durrrrrrrr

As the cuntree gets even stupider:

Upkeep of roads, bridges and transit systems is a high priority to an overwhelming margin of Americans, but by an even greater margin they don't want to pay more for it, according to a survey that will be released this week.
Hey, I know how to pay for it.....CUT TAXES!!
Problem solved, thank you.

Job Killers!!

The Reich wing Wurlizer is at it again:

CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf told the House Budget Committee on Thursday that the health care law will reduce employment by 0.5 percent by 2021 because some people will no longer have to work just to afford health insurance.
Naturally, this is being portrayed by the GOP as "job killing."

Think or say what you will about the National Enquirer, but they got it right on Edwards, and hopefully, lightening will strike twice.

Capitol Hill insiders and political bloggers have been buzzing about an upcoming New York Times probe - detailing an alleged affair that the 61-year-old married father of two had with pretty Washington lobbyist LISBETH LYONS.
And an ENQUIRER investigation has uncovered a bedroom encounter that Boehner - second in line of succession to the presidency - allegedly had with LEIGH LaMORA, a 46-year-old former press secretary to ex-Colorado Congressman JOEL HEFLEY.
Please, please, please.....

Another day, another Rushthuglican Sex Scandal

It's not like he was cruising for a blowjob in airport bathrooms, or hiring a hooker through a well known madam to diaper him and spank him until he wets himself. Surprised, I am, that he resigned so quickly.
A bit prematurely, perhaps.......was it good for you?

Good riddance you scrotal byproduct.

Movin' on Up

You hire a hooker and you know what you're going to get.:

A senior aide to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) who was behind Republicans' Pledge to America is leaving Capitol Hill to join one of Washington's top-earning lobby firms.
As senior adviser for legislative initiatives to Boehner, Brian Wild was the executive director of the House GOP project that produced the Pledge, the GOP governing philosophy laid out before last year's midterm elections.
Republicans who serve their masters well are rewarded richly. Obviously the core value of their jobs plan.
Fucking wow.

So, what's the Problem???

Toning down the vitriol, an Alabama senator says it's time to "empty the clip" on illegals, but he isn't advocating violence.
Really, he was just kidding and taken out of context, yada yada yada.
He was actually talking about the clip that surveyors use to attach their surveying equipment to their belts.

So much for that Muslim Caliphate

The Muslim Brotherhood said Wednesday it will promote democracy in Egypt but does not intend to field a candidate for president.
Just another liberal plot to deceive us and to enslave all the white people and do many unmentionables to the white women who will be placed into our many harems directed by b. HUSSEIN Obama.

The Best Super Bowl Commercial

Wouldn't be Surprising

The true state of contemporary bi-partisanship:

In a strong rebuke of President Obama and his domestic agenda, all 242 House Republicans voted Wednesday to repeal the Asteroid Destruction and American Preservation Act, which was signed into law last year to destroy the immense asteroid currently hurtling toward Earth.

Tear Down This Myth

10 Things Conservatives Don’t Want You To Know About Ronald Reagan
11. Reagan didn't ride into soviet Russia on a white stallion, draped in the American flag to single handily defeat the communists with American exceptionalism beams.
And a few more:
Reagan was the one who started taxing unemployment benefits. Reagan was the one who pushed up the Social Security retirement age from 65. Reagan was the one who closed the income tax deduction for credit card interest, forcing higher taxes on the middle class in particular. Reagan was a union buster. He was a homophobe who could have gotten a handle on the exploding AIDS crisis if he had acted early. He declared ketchup to be a vegetable so California wouldn't have to add a vegetable to its school lunches. And speaking of vegetables, he was senile long before he left office. Other than that he was just a bad actor.

And let's not forget that the Deified Reagan also had Saddam Hussein on the payroll during his presidency as long as he was killing Iranians.
Condensed version: Reagan was a "tax raising, amnesty giving, cut-and-running, negotiating with terrorist" kind of guy.

But in a jolt to reality, as bad as Reagan was he would say these fuckers running the Republican party today are out of their fucking minds.
