Do NOT Read This With Liquid in Mouth

Smirky Von Chimpenfurerher puts together a few garbled sentence fragments and gives one of his infamous democratude lectures to Cuba by saying that he expects the Cubans to hold free and fair elections "and I mean free and fair, not those staged elections the Castro brothers try to foist off on the people."

You know, like they do in Florida.

Hey, Undie: Bush also ragged on Castro - Cuba for keeping people "rotting" in prisons. Oh, the irony. I guess Guantanamo slipped in tiny mind for the moment.

That's just getting TOO fucking obvious! Even dim-bulb W has to be sensing that he's just talking throw-away shit! Nobody who gets through college (even on "gentlemens C's" like W did) can be THAT irony-impaired!

As I keep saying - - this has turned into more of a reflection on how gullible/lazy/hubristic a majority of the people in this country are, than it is on how devious & Machavellian the Bushies are - - BECAUSE THEY'RE **NOT** DEVIOUS & MACHAVELLIAN - - THEY'RE JUST UNCARINGLY OBVIOUS! They've fallen into a casual corruption because they know that (until recently) they could/can roll most of America with some phony outrage ploy when they have to, and they can cow the media with a similar outrage ploy about 'fairness' (of course when it comes to social or criminal legislation or international relations, the word 'fairness' is scoffed at by the Neo-cons). And they'll keep playing the suckers/rubes for all they can get, because that's ALL that they're good it, as most people are slowly beginning to realize.

Well, big em; if we weren't so dumbed down, amused by the new American Gladiators show and pinned to our couches by our enormous girth, maybe we'd do something about it.

Yeah, I know what you mean ::mwah::, but even by normal standards of US intellectual/political laziness, this country is reaching new depths of low-altitude! In the recent presidential primary here in Wisconsin, the local commentators actually said -- with no hint of despair or disgust -- that the 35% turnout was "high - 10% higher than normal primaries!" Jeez, can't pull themselves away from American Idol/Oprah for 1/2 an hour to vote?!? Starting to believe we're getting the 'democracy' and the politicians we deserve....

I'm still not convinced that Jebby won't be somewhere on the Repub ticket in November.
