Suh-nap!

John "Iranian al-Qaidists are training Shiites" McBush: "Obama only visiting Iraq once shows how little he understands about Iraq."

Barack Obama: "It's funny that the guy who swallowed all of the misadministration's propaganda hook, line, sinker and ... ahem ... rod, would lecture me about the war":

“On the day after the former White House press secretary conceded that the Bush administration used deception and propaganda to take us to war, it seems odd that Senator McCain, who bought the flawed rationale for war so readily, would be lecturing others on their depth of understanding about Iraq,” Obama spokesman Bill Burton said.

“Senator Obama challenged the President's rationale for the war from the start, warning that it would divert resources from Afghanistan and the pursuit of Al Qaeda and mire us in an endless civil war. Senator McCain stubbornly insists on pursuing the failed Bush policy that continues to cost so much, while Senator Obama believes it's time to begin a deliberate, careful strategy to remove our troops and compel the Iraqis to take responsibility for their own future.”

Stupid: The RNC is now actually keeping a clock on their website to count the days since Obama last stepped foot in Iraq.

A pity they seem less concerned about tracking how many troops have died there.

Here's a pic of the last time McNuts was there: helmeted, armored, heavily escorted, and surrounded by so many pieces of artillery that his phalanx of snipers would have been in danger of friendly-fire ricochets had they been forced to actually shoot anyone.

Again, though a Hillary supporter, I've come to appreciate the Obama ability to punch McCain's Crazy Button.

It's just a matter of time until McCain, like Wile E. Coyote, blows himself up as a result.

Oh man, am I looking forward to it!

I've never been too impressed with the idea/argument that brief physical proximity to something gives you special knowledge about that entity -- be it a structure/city/country or whatever. I've traveled somewhat in my life, but just because I was briefly in New York or London or Paris, etc doesn't make me an expert on the local politics of those places -- in fact a person who's 5000 miles away could (especially in today's Inter-tubes era) easily be more knowledgeable about one of these places than many of the natives who don't pay attention.
And, I suspect, like many of you, I've seen too many 'corporate visits' by our corporate masters who then pretend to understanding of and some 'closeness' to we employees who 'are our most important asset' (at least until we have to fire you to make our bonuses for the quarter). Or if I go to a major league baseball game, does that make me more knowledgeable than some sports fanatic watching it on TV and reading all the newspaper/magazine coverage? It's a bogus argument in my mind...

Maru, your ad libs are pure comedy gold.
"..., sinker and ... ahem ... rod,..."

Seriously, you should send some samples of your creative writing skills to Comedy Central. You'd probably be rollin' in cash.

Hey Chris, the part with Wile E. McCain is Funny. Care to Make a catroon of that?

Whew, I'd be treading on hallowed ground if I did. I'm a serious fan of Warner Bros. classic animation, and I wouldn't dream of appropriating it for political purposes.

Nevertheless, Chuck Jones has said about the Coyote/Road Runner dynamic that it is a study in the mechanics of self-destruction, which is of course what made me think of it when McCain started huffing and puffing.

Wile E. is doomed from the start. It' not about sustenance any more, it's gone from simple food gathering to obsessive quest. Otherwise, he'd just order up a brace of pullets from Tyson instead of blowing all his dough on Acme products to trap one extremely thin bird.

I'm serious about this. McCain has some problems with his temper, and Obama knows it. He has repeatedly pushed the button, and then calmly returned the debate back to the issue when McCain sputters on about his days in the 'nam.

Nothing worse than calm answers in a heated debate, and like I say, Obama really seems to get under McCain's skin.

That's why I'm confident that if Obama is the democratic candidate, which looks more likely all the time, he'll walk McCain into a full-blown spaz attack.

The only question is how the press will cover it-- will they report that McCain lost it, or will they castigate Obama for beating up on kindly old man?

Stay tuned for the next psychotic episode!

And Obama just did it to McCain again (over McCain's erroneous claim that troop numbers in Iraq are at pre-surge levels).

Here's what I mean-- McCain's too far gone to simply say "my bad" at this point, so like a dope he kept digging, which just makes him look petty and gave Obama the perfect opening to deliver the stinger:

"We've seen this movie before," Obama said at a town hall in Rapid City, S.D. "A leader who pursues the wrong course, who is unwilling to change course, who ignores the evidence. Now, just like George Bush, John McCain is refusing to admit that he's made a mistake."

Really, an absolutely perfect shot: right between the eyes. And to continue the WB anim analogy, you can bet that there's steam coming out of McCain's ears about now.
