Seniletor McThuselah: “Mehhhhhh!”

An “agitated” John McCain says ‘Don't call me a maverick.’
Facing a primary challenge from tinfoiled potatohead JD Hayworth, the Arizona senator is trying to recast himself as a GOP loyalist.

McSenile, who built his political persona and his 2008 presidential campaign around the claim that he’s a “maverick” recently blatted : “I never considered myself a maverick.”

When POLITICO asked McCain about the contradiction at the Capitol this week, the querulous old Republican grew visibly irritated and snapped: “I’ve been called a thousand things. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I am not a communist. I may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but I am not a porn star! ”
“And I would’ve gotten away with it, too, if it hadn’t been for you meddling bloggers!”

Boy, we're even transcending "1984" here! Five or ten years ago, if you asked people to describe McCain in one word, friend or foe alike would've overwhelmingly chosen 'maverick' (though some foes who read critical accounts of him would've discerned his exaggeration of that title). As noted here and elsewhere, he even campaigned on that reputation! It's just insane to try to now disavow that he ever used that word to describe himself or his views - - it makes him not worth bothering with, in my mind.

Good find, Roket! Of course all of this is 'fact-based' criticism, which the Reich-wingers condescendingly dismiss, ever since St Ronnie of Raygun was able to schmaltz people with his 'B-movie' sincerity, and too many sheeple lapped it up.
