No doubt -- as some of the commentors in the linked article noted -- you can NOT be sued for slander IF the information presented is TRUE and presented in a straightforward manner. As they also noted and is also undoubtedly true, this is just an attempt by Vitter & friends to cow the local media into submission so as to possibly avoid an expensive lawsuit, even when they WOULD win it.
