"A leader who pursues the wrong course, who is unwilling to change course, who ignores the evidence. Now, just like George Bush, John McCain is refusing to admit that he's made a mistake."

Really, an absolutely perfect shot: right between the eyes. And to continue the WB anim analogy, you can bet that there's steam coming out of McCain's ears about now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3330328.post-64832813405453209862008-05-31T00:40:00.000-04:002008-05-31T00:40:00.000-04:00Whew, I'd be treading on hallowed ground if I did....Whew, I'd be treading on hallowed ground if I did. I'm a serious fan of Warner Bros. classic animation, and I wouldn't dream of appropriating it for political purposes.

Nevertheless, Chuck Jones has said about the Coyote/Road Runner dynamic that it is a study in the mechanics of self-destruction, which is of course what made me think of it when McCain started huffing and puffing.

Wile E. is doomed from the start. It' not about sustenance any more, it's gone from simple food gathering to obsessive quest. Otherwise, he'd just order up a brace of pullets from Tyson instead of blowing all his dough on Acme products to trap one extremely thin bird.

I'm serious about this. McCain has some problems with his temper, and Obama knows it. He has repeatedly pushed the button, and then calmly returned the debate back to the issue when McCain sputters on about his days in the 'nam.

Nothing worse than calm answers in a heated debate, and like I say, Obama really seems to get under McCain's skin.

That's why I'm confident that if Obama is the democratic candidate, which looks more likely all the time, he'll walk McCain into a full-blown spaz attack.

The only question is how the press will cover it-- will they report that McCain lost it, or will they castigate Obama for beating up on kindly old man?

Stay tuned for the next psychotic episode!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3330328.post-78459220287401270022008-05-30T18:46:00.000-04:002008-05-30T18:46:00.000-04:00Hey Chris, the part with Wile E. I've traveled somewhat in my life, but just because I was briefly in New York or London or Paris, etc doesn't make me an expert on the local politics of those places -- in fact a person who's 5000 miles away could (especially in today's Inter-tubes era) easily be more knowledgeable about one of these places than many of the natives who don't pay attention.
And, I suspect, like many of you, I've seen too many 'corporate visits' by our corporate masters who then pretend to understanding of and some 'closeness' to we employees who 'are our most important asset' (at least until we have to fire you to make our bonuses for the quarter). Or if I go to a major league baseball game, does that make me more knowledgeable than some sports fanatic watching it on TV and reading all the newspaper/magazine coverage? It's a bogus argument in my mind...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3330328.post-51568511939607365252008-05-29T20:26:00.000-04:002008-05-29T20:26:00.000-04:00Again, though a Hillary supporter, I've come to ap...Again, though a Hillary supporter, I've come to appreciate the Obama ability to punch McCain's Crazy Button.

It's just a matter of time until McCain, like Wile E. Coyote, blows himself up as a result.

Oh man, am I looking forward to it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
