Indicted Enron Exec's Mansion Fire Deliberate
OK, it's not really news - it's just nice to see the words "indicted Enron executive" pop up from time to time.

A mansion once owned by former Enron executive/sleazeball Andrew Fastow sustained minor damage Sunday in a fire that was deliberately set, fire department investigators said.

The blaze was discovered about 3 a.m. in the River Oaks subdivision in southwest Houston. "It was very, very minimal damage," said Houston Fire Department spokesman Jay Evans. "Right now, we have no idea why this fire was started. No suspect has been arrested and the case is under investigation." Uh huh. Later: Enron arson case closed when investigator found dead in tragic gun-cleaning accident.

Prosecutors say Fastow built the home with laundered money, so the proceeds will be turned over to the U.S. Marshal's Service until a judge rules on whether it was looted from Enron Corp.

The home is one of five properties included as equity for a bond that let Fastow go free after he was charged with fraud in early October. - from the Houston Chronicle.
