Troops in Iraq face pay cut
WASHINGTON -- The Pentagon wants to cut the pay of its 148,000 U.S. troops in Iraq, who are already contending with guerrilla-style attacks, homesickness and 120-degree-plus heat.
Unless Congress and court-appointed liar Smirky McAWOL 'take quick action' when Congress returns after Labor Day, the uniformed Americans in Iraq and the 9,000 in Afghanistan will lose a pay increase approved last April of $75 a month in "imminent danger pay" and $150 a month in "family separation allowances."
57 Americans have died in combat-related incidents since the Empty Flight-Suit-in-Chief declared an end to major combat operations in his shameful photo-op of May 1. Another 69 have been killed by disease, the heat or in accidents. - link.
Supporting the troops
A group representing military families and veterans Wednesday called for an immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, saying at a Washington press conference that there was no justification for the deployment in the first place.
"We believe very strongly that the reason that we're over there had nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction and had nothing to do with links between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda," said Nancy Lessin, co-founder of Military Families Speak Out. - CNS Nooze.
