"We've seen the e-mails now. They're damning."
New e-mails released [last night] by the Justice Department reveal the depth of White House involvement in the discussions to fire eight U.S. attorneys last year. The thousands of pages of e-mails suggest the White House was involved in the plan from the beginning.
Internal administration documents collected by congressional investigators contradicted Justice Department assurances that the White House played no role in the firings. The documents also indicated that Gonzales might have known more about the plan for dismissals than he'd acknowledged.
What a surprise.
ReplyDeleteFunny they dump a truck load of documents thinking it will gum up the works. But now a days with the intertubenets and the google hundreds of thousands of people are finding all kind of shit. Like someone on TPMuckraker and sortly after Politico finding an 18 day gap. Hummmm what other republican scandle had a gap in info. The ghost of Nixon seems to be haunting the republican party, either that or Cheney and the others that were around back then haven't changed a bit.
