Support for Gonzales collapses like Rush's tiny, unmedicated peener
WH looking for Gonzales' replacement, even though the preznit said he had every confidence in his l'il pet shyster.
Republican officials operating at the behest of the White House have begun seeking a possible successor to Alberto Gonzales, whose support among GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill has collapsed. A well-connected Republican said that White House officials have launched an aggressive search for Gonzales' replacement, though Bush hadn't decided whether to ask for his resignation.Among the names floated like little turds Monday by misadministration officials are Ted Olson, who helped Bush walk away with the 2000 election, and Homeland Security head Michael Chertoff.
Bonus: from ThinkProgress: Fox News’ Major Garrett reports: “Several GOP [congressional] sources told Fox last night that Gonzales is the President’s friend and his problem, and that they will waste no political capital defending him.”
"peener"??
