If you've ever watched your cat play with a half-live mouse it's really kind of shocking by human standards of morality - - the 'cruelty' makes you realize that with cats that there is no such thing as 'pity' or 'empathy' towards smaller animals for the most part... they're just perceived as food if they're hungry, a toy if they're playful, and a rock if they're sleepy.
