Gramps McStain loves him some ABBA

Manages to make a connection between his plane being shot down and "Dancing Queen:"

Now look, everybody says, ‘I hate ABBA. Oh ABBA, how terrible! Blah blah
blah,' he said. How come everybody goes to ‘Mamma Mia?’ Huh? I mean really,
seriously, huh? ‘I hate ABBA, they’re no good, you know.’ Well, everybody goes,
they’ve been selling out for years. I made ABBA what they are today! Without me,
they'd just be another Swedish disco band.
OK, Gramps, whatever you say.

I THINK he was trying project some sort of 'youthful' image by aligning himself with ABBA. What's a little strange is that he says his taste in music/art was arrested at the time he made contact with a surface-to-air-missile (subtle segue, that) which I thought happened sometime in the mid-late '60s? ABBA first hit the music scene around the mid 70's as I recall... something doesn't really add-up..

  2. As usual, McStain doesn't add up, big em. He was shot down in 1967 and was there for 5 years. ABBA won its Eurovision prize in 1973.
