Janet Reno Demands Investigation of Jeb's Florida Fiasco

Janet Reno has demanded that an outside investigator be appointed to monitor Jeb Bush's handling of the disappearance of Rilya Wilson, the five year old girl who went missing while under state care 15 months ago.

"Don't be afraid of an independent monitor, Governor," the ex-attorney general taunted, during an address in St. Petersburg. "Develop some performance standards for yourself, Governor. Hold yourself accountable, Governor."

Reacting to Bush's plan to have a blue-ribbon panel examine how Florida's Department of Children & Families mishandled the Wilson case, Reno charged, "Governor, that's not enough. This is a problem not just in Miami-Dade County, this is a problem across the state." The ex-attorney general went so far as to charge that the Wilson scandal was only the tip of the iceberg, telling her audience that there were at least 374 other children who have gone missing while in the custody of Florida's child protection system.

Casting further aspersions on the Bush administration, Reno alleged that no one has even bothered to look for the hundreds of missing children.

Their efforts have clearly put Bush on the defensive. And new reports suggesting that Kathleen Kearney, whom he appointed to head the DCF in 1999, had engaged in financial improprieties, had the Florida governor running for cover on Friday.

Asked during a press conference about reports that Kearney had improperly charged thousands of dollars to her ex-husband's credit card, Bush called the story "trash journalism" and abruptly ended the session, according to the Miami Herald. Good one, Jeb. Trash journalism: there's something a repuke would be very familiar with. But you never have an answer when it comes up and bites you in the ass, do you? Chickenshit fuck. - - (snipped from the bushmoonie site)
