Ob'omneycare

It's... it's... it's different because I'm a republican, dammit!!

"What's more enjoyable than watching Mitt Romney attempt to bend, twist and wiggle his way through a contradictory political position? Not much."

LULZ. From here, if the video doesn't work.

We had eight years of Bush and Cheney -- now you get mad?

Who’s the fascist commie socialist Hitler-lover NOW, huh?

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.
You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed energy company officials to dictate energy policy.
You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.
You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion (and counting) on said illegal war.
You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq .
You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.
You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.
You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans , drown.
You didn't get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.
You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.
You didn't get mad when the president ignored the clear and timely warning that terrorists were going to hijack planes and fly them into the WTC.
You didn't get mad when the weapons inspectors, who said there were no WMDs, were ignored.
You didn't get mad when hundreds of thousands of people died in Iraq .

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with you, but helping other Americans... oh hell no.
-- From here and here.

They didn’t get mad when Dumbyah said the Constitution was “just a goddamn piece of paper,” either.

C-Span caller: “what’s with all the Negroes?”

I’m hoping this is just a joke.

A caller to C-Span, who identified himself as a Republican from North Carolina, accused the network of taking too many phone calls from black people.

"You have black folks calling in on the Republican line, independents. And you have so many of 'em I can't believe this is just an accident. If you keep on with the way you've been programming, you should change your name from C-Span to Black-Span," he said. "I know they have an opinion but I wish that they would be honest and call in on the right line."
You know, the line at the back of the bus.

Tarnation! There ain’t no way a n****r kin be a republican! Shee-it!
Gawd.

Woops! There goes another right-wing talking point

Why do our troops hate America ?

GOP to Dems: “fuck your civility campaign”

GODFUCKINGDAMMIT!!

The Republican National Committee has rejected a proposal from Democrats to sign a joint statement that would have called for “elected officials of both parties to set an example of the civility we want to see in our citizenry.”

Celebrity hockey-mom gets yet another TV show

And it’s not My Kids Can Avoid Criminal Charges Because I’m a Republican Celebrity.

“Sarah Palin will take her first stab at television hosting when she fronts a new Fox News [sic] series, Real American Stories, premiering Thursday April 1 at 10pmET. Guests for the first show include country singer Toby Keith, rapper/actor LL Cool J and GE CEO Jack Welch.”

What, was Vanilla Ice too busy?

A rich guy, another rich guy, and a mega-rich guy. Real America.

Matzohl tov, idiot

Psycho California GOP candidate Carly Fiorina calls Passover a time for people to "break bread" together. You know, Passover -- the holiday that begins with going through your house to throw away all the bread.

After howls of hilarity occurred across the intarwebs, the Fiorina camp backtracked and issued the following explanation:

”We meant all bread, leavened and unleavened, and matzo is just unleavened bread so that's what we meant by that.”
Yeah… that’s the ticket…
Schmucks.

Anti-American liberal elite prank results in dozens of cars being towed at Glenn Beck rally

Garage owner reaps windfall harvesting tinfoil wrapped around car aerials.

Dozens of Glenn Beck fans who emerged from an event at the University of Central Florida to find their cars gone say they were the victims of a fraternity prank. They followed signs directing them toward free parking, only to later discover that their cars had been towed from a Kappa Sigma parking lot. The 53 Beck fans had to shell out $125 each at the impound lot.

The owner of the tow company says it was his busiest day ever.
I can’t stop laughing.

The fine print is awesome.

The party of personal responsibility

December: Sarah Palin leaves Hawaiian vacation over “McCain visor” publicity.

March: Sarah Palin left Hawaiian vacation over daughter’s breaking, entering, partying, and causing more than $20,000 in damages.

Spoiled Palin spawn avoids criminal charges thanks to her bootstrappy, real-American wholesome, average hockey-mom:

According to sources close to the Alaska State troopers there was a secret weekend meeting. This meeting took place between the Palins and some very highly placed people involved in the juvenile justice department. Directly after this secret meeting the word came down to the juvenile justice probation officer that ONLY the boys who had participated would be charged with the crime. Willow Palin and the girls would only be identified as “witnesses” and face no criminal penalties.

This has made the State Troopers and those working in the juvenile justice department very, very unhappy. But there was nothing they could do, the Palins had connections, and for them apparently the law simply did not apply.
Welp, THAT’s certainly not a segment we’ll see on Bible Spice’s wholesome and patriotic new television show.

War criminal booed off stage

"The only comfort I take is that you're going to rot in hell," America-hater tells corpulant, traitorous antichrist.

Notorious war criminal Karl Rove was heckled and branded a 'war criminal' at a book signing in Guantan Beverly Hills Monday night.

Rove, who still isn’t in prison, was at the Saban Theater to discuss his new book, "Courage and Consequences: I Have No Idea What Those Two Things Mean.”

But audience members were unable to get their copies of the book signed after the bloated chickenshit was shouted down and forced to leave the stage.
The irony-challenged Rove, who defended his misadministration's stance of pissing all over the Bill of Rights, said the interruptions reflected the "totalitarianism of the left."

Heckling. Free speech. The "totalitarianism of the left." Jeebus Christmas.

It's called Freedom Pwnage. You porculant fuck.

Hurrrrr derp derp derp

Giving the "keep your government hands off my Medicare!” idiots a run for their money, some mouthbreather is upset that the federal govt is ‘taking over the federal student loan program.’

The nutjob? Republican US Sen Lamar Alexander.

"The Democratic majority decided, well look, while we're at it, let's have another Washington takeover," said Alexander. "Let's take over the federal student loan program."

The switch to direct government loans will result in savings to boost Pell Grants and make it easier for some workers to repay their student loans. In addition, some borrowers could see lower interest rates and higher approval rates on student loans.

Lindsey Graham puts down the Cub Scout and picks up John McCain’s dick

‘Those mean ol’ Democwats were so partisan!,’ lisped the partisan lickspittle on the bill not one repuglican voted for.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-Ectum) says the prospects for passing any more major legislation may be lost now that the Dems have all but finished up health care. One problem, he says, is that Democrats may not have the appetite after health care to commit to addressing other tough issues. But beyond that, he says, members of the GOP might just pick up their toys and go home.
"The consequences of doing [health care reform] this big in such a partisan, sleazy way -- those consequences are real," Graham said, while texting an altar boy.

The GOP's giant hissy fit

The GOP "has taken some of the worst elements of Tea Party anger and incorporated them into its own identity," writes some guy named Timothy Egan. Which means it sucks even MORE ass.

"They are ticked off, red-faced, frothing -- and these are the men in suits. But as the party of the hissy fit, Republicans are playing with fire."

"Having welcomed Tea Party rage into their home, and vowing repeal [of health care reform], the Republicans have made a dangerous bargain," Egan contends.
Among others, Egan blasts John Boehner -- "his perma-tan turning crimson in rage", and senile old dotard John McCain, who vowed 'no cooperation for the rest of the year' : “this is an adolescent living in the shell of a former statesman."

‘Waterloo’ comment re: GOP’s Waterloo Waterloo for Frum

David Frum forced out of conservaturd septic tank after 11 years.

After criticizing republican party leaders for their total opposition to President Obama's health-care plans, former Bush speechwriter David Frum was given the heave-ho from the conservative American Enterprise Institute echo chamber.

Former Republican policy advisor Bruce Bartlett, fired by the rightwing National Center for Policy Analysis for writing a book critical of Bunnypants, responded:

“[Frum] asked if I had noticed any comments by American Enterprise ‘scholars’ on the subject of health care reform. I said no and he said that was because they had been ordered not to speak to the media because they agreed with too much of what Obama was trying to do.

“It saddened me to hear this. I have always hoped that my experience was unique. But now I see that I was just the first to suffer from a closing of the conservative mind. Rigid conformity is being enforced, no dissent is allowed, and the conservative brain will slowly shrivel into dementia if it hasn't already.”
It has. And from the conservive Front Page Mag:
"The Right's response to David Frum's perceived heresies has inflicted serious intellectual and political damage on the conservative movement.”
”Intellectual” damage? I don’t think that was ever a problem.

‘Bring it on, suckas!’

President Obama mocked the Grand Obstructionist Party's campaign to repeal the health care law, saying they should "Go for it" and see how well they do with voters in November.

Be my guest," Obama said. "If they want to have that fight, we can have it. Because I don't believe the American people are going to put the insurance industry back in the driver's seat."

"Leaders of the Republican Party, they called the passage of this bill 'Armageddon.'" Obama told the audience, to laughter. "'End of freedom as we know it.' Forty years of darkness…the dead rising from the grave… cats and dogs living together. Mass hysteria!

“So after I signed the bill, I looked around to see if there [were] any asteroids falling or some cracks opening up in the Earth. It turned out it was a nice day. Birds were chirping. Folks were strolling down the Mall. People still had their doctors."
And he has probably saved the lives of millions of registered voters.

Meep!

One of the zebra finch chicks!

Mystery of the day

Why God, after listening to rethugs lie, threaten, and bear false witness, has not yet smited them for their hypocrisy in nominating the first week of May as 'Ten Commandments Week'.

Keepin’ us safer

Rethug undermining our troops, national security with his douchebaggery.

In a snit over health care reform, Republican Sen. Richard Burr derailed a Senate Armed Services hearing at which generals from Korea and Hawaii were scheduled to attend.

Wednesday was the second day Republican senators have blocked committees from conducting afternoon hearings...
Why does Sen. Burr hate our troops?

Really, Discovery Channel?

Really?

Meanwhile, on Planet Scumbag

Repukes use the old blame the rape victim ‘cause she wore a miniskirt “defense.”

As the number of rightwing death threats against Dems rise, the cranially-challenged Glenn Beck says Democrat are for “trying to provoke an armed revolution.” The rest of the fair and balanced comments from Fux Noise hosts aren’t much better. Or from CNN, the most trusted name in taking repuke cock up the ass while begging for more.

Fuck you.

The Vitter amendment

Louisiana Democrats to GOP Sen Coburn: Why stop at sex offenders? Why not deny Viagra to anyone caught with a hooker, like a certain colleague of yours?

Today, the Louisiana Democratic Party suggested that Senator Tom Coburn expand his proposed amendment to the health care reconciliation bill prohibiting coverage of erectile dysfunction medications to child molesters, rapists and sex offenders to include those who admit or are convicted of prostitution or prostitution-related crimes.

“If Senator Coburn believes that federal law should not allow coverage of erectile dysfunction medications to folks whose impulses have led them to break the law, then surely he would agree that anyone who has admitted or been found guilty of involvement with prostitution should not be covered either,” said Louisiana Democratic Party spokesman Kevin Franck.
And mega-dittos for you too, Rush.

Pwn3d

GOP Governor of GA: "We need to file a lawsuit to block Obamacare."
GA's Dem AG: "Sorry, wasting money filing frivolous lawsuits wouldn't be fiscally conservative."

TOLD!!

Hope and Change works its magic on Dem genitalia

Democrats rip Sen. Grasshole a new one after Mr. Death Panels starts taking credit for part of health care bill:

"Chuck Grassley has been in Washington for too long if he thinks Iowans did not notice his strenuous, strident, and spirited opposition to health care reform," DSCC spokesperson Eric Schultz said in a statement. "This is someone who did everything he could to stop the bill, but now thinks it is worth touting."

"Either he is a total hypocrite or he has taken March Madness to a whole new level," Schultz added.

George Bush hates sweaty black people

Classy as ever -- Dumbyuh wipes his hand on Bill Clinton's shirt after shaking hands with a group of Haitians.

Judicial activism!

IOKIYAR. Until you get called on it, dickheads.

More than a dozen state attorneys general across the country -- almost all of them Republicans and quite a few of them running for governor this year -- announced that they were challenging the constitutionality of the new health-care law. And some of them are now getting backlash for wading into what seems to be a very political story: trying to overturn a law that was passed by Congress and signed into law.
-- Heh.

“Party of No continues futile push against health care bill”

“One need not demonize today's GOP, for it's doing a terrific job of that all by itself.”

Republicans are writing the book on how to be poor losers by vowing to repeal the just-passed health care reform bill.

The party of 'no' image will backfire on the GOP if this negative campaign continues. Stephen Hess of the Brookings Institution in Washington says that the Republicans "overplayed their hand" in attempting to block the health care legislation by banning together. The bigoted and hateful behavior of tea partiers have further damaged the image of conservatives.

There comes a point that conservatives will have to accept the new law. Even down the road if the Republicans gain many more seats, what would they accomplish by yanking health care coverage from 32 million children and adults?
-- From here.

Republican crybabies meet their Waterloo

"Nothing like positioning yourselves as crybaby, sore-losing, self-serving obstructionist do-nothings hellbent on selling your souls, and the nation's best interests, in order to win a few House and Senate seats. So much for McCain's "country first" campaign promise. As we've seen this week, what truly comes first is the coffers of their fatcat corporate special-interest pals and the personal bank accounts of their rich, tax-loathing constituency. Fuck the poor, the middle class, the sick, the needy, the uninsured. I got mine, now go get yours. At least we know what matters most to these selfish elitists."
-- Lots more here.

Compassionate conservatism

“Congressman Stupak, you baby-killing mother f***er... I hope you bleed out your a**, get cancer and die, you mother f***er." -- anonymous teabagger.

"Take [Ohio Rep.] Steve Driehaus, for example. He may be a dead man. He can’t go home to the west side of Cincinnati ." – House Minority Leader John Boehner.

At least 10 House Democrats who voted Sunday for health care overhaul have received violent threats to their lives or property, party leaders said today.

Democratic Congress members are getting lessons from the FBI on how to handle threats such as several directed at their colleagues, including bricks hurled through windows, gas lines being cut, misspelled and poorly-structured posts on their FaceBook pages, coffins on their lawns, and menacing obscenity-laced phone messages left for those who supported sweeping federal health care legislation.
The Dem rep of Arizona had the front door of her Tucson office shattered by a pellet gun. A fucking gun.

Yays!

We have three baby zebra finches! Finally! One has already left the nest. They look like tiny, fat little yetis. Hopefully I'll have some pics soon!

Hero of the day

James Cameron calls Glenn Beck a “fucking asshole”

"He's dangerous because his ideas are poisonous," Cameron answered. "I couldn't believe when he was on CNN. I thought, what happened to CNN? Who is this guy? Who is this madman? And then of course he wound up on Fox News, which is where he belongs, I guess."

Asked by THR if he felt the right wing's attacks against him were continuing, Cameron replied: "They're not attacks. They're just people ranting away, lost in their little bubbles of reality, steeped in their own hatred, their own fear and hatred. That's where it all comes from. Let's just call it out."

I hear a symphony…

That sound you hear? It's conservatards’ heads exploding upon learning that George Washington also mandated citizens to buy ‘goods or services’ -- only in his case it was for GUNS. Guns, conservatards.

"Republicans weigh costs of losing ugly"

The party of anger is getting angrier, uglier

John Boehner’s witless attacks, teabaggers hurling racial and homophobic slurs, Republican lawmakers who cheer them on, shouts of “baby killer!” on the House floor, rightwing hate media hosts -- the GOP’s fury toward President Obama/Democrats has become out of control:

But rather than calm the demonstrators, Republican congressmen whipped the masses into a frenzy. There on the House balcony, the GOP lawmakers' legislative dissent and the tea-party protest merged into one. Some lawmakers waved handwritten signs and led the crowd in chants of "Kill the bill." A few waved the yellow "Don't Tread on Me" flag of the tea-party movement. Still others fired up the demonstrators with campaign-style signs mocking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

All of this -- hatred, churlishness, pique, resentment, snarling, incivility -- has become the face of a political party which once reflected the sunny optimism of Ronald Reagan. Let me ask -- when was the last time a political party gained power in America on anger alone?

Poll: majority of Americans are socialist baby-killing commies

Why do Americans hate America ?

According to a Gallup/USA Today poll conducted the day after health care legislation passed the House of Representatives, 49 percent of the respondents think the passage of reform is a "good thing," compared to 40 percent who were busily jerking off during Sean Hannity’s radio program.

Democrats didn't just get a health-care-related boost in the realm of public opinion. The Democratic National Committee reported raising more than $1 million in donations on Tuesday even without even asking.

Congressional Republicans, all of whom voted against the bill, are viewed negatively. Although 26% of those surveyed rate the GOP's effort as excellent or good, 34% say repuglicans have sucked donkey dong.
In other words, most people aren’t buying it, repukes. They didn’t buy the Lenin thing and they didn’t buy the Hitler thing. So what’s next? Was there anyone worse than Hitler you can compare the President to? Besides conservatives? You’re fucked. Bwahahahaha.

mAnn Coulter speech cancelled after (s)he gets all cunty

The syphilitic tranny, warned by the Canadian govt not to use hate speech in her act, cancelled her gig when she realized she would have absolutely no material left.

Oh, sorry. Her hate talk at the University of Ottawa was shitcanned after she told a Muslim student to "take a camel" as an alternative to flying.

Bonus: she’s now crying she’s been the victim of hate speech from the University and is filing a human rights complaint, which begs the question: what makes her think she's human?

A most historic House call

Democrats choose change, Republicans choose derange. From a Palm Beach Post op-ed:

"We're about 24 hours from Armageddon," House Minority Leader John Boehner brayed Saturday...

Having offered nothing constructive for the last year, though, all Republicans had left by Sunday night was mindless fury.
I know there are some who are not happy with the health care bill, but man, I am loving watching the rethugs implode and I especially love watching them get called on it. Let them fucking eat it after those 8-12 years of republican bullshit we went through. Fuck ‘em.

Repulsive liar cuts and runs from cutting and running

Rush Limbaugh, who vowed to leave the country if HCR passed, has gone back on his word. On the positive side, thousands of young Costa Rican boys can now sleep peacefully knowing the odious, Viagra-swilling gasbag won’t be rolling by any time soon.

What's most ironic about Limbaugh's pledge is not just the fact that millions of Americans would love to see Limbaugh leave the country, but that Costa Rica has a far more socialized health care system than we have here in the United States . The country's health program was rated "excellent" by a study in the American Journal of Public Health.

So, Limbaugh inadvertently did his liberal enemies a huge favor by drawing attention to the country whose socialist health care system he admires. Limbaugh, one of the right wing talking heads who constantly rants about Obama's alleged socialist plot to take over the world, has (surprise) put his foot in his mouth.

Of course, once health care reform passed through the House of Representatives, Limbaugh started back pedaling. If it seems as though he's being a hypocrite for running away from his previous pledge, the answer is "yes."
Bonus quote: “This incident also points out one other important truth about Limbaugh that the world has yet to fully realize: The man is not very smart.”

Abortions, no! Killing Democratic lawmakers’ kids, yes!

“Exremism [sic] in defense of liberty is no vice”, scrawled one teabagger in his own excrement.

Not satified with vandalizing Democratic offices, conservaturds threaten the children of lawmakers with assassination:

[Rep. Louise] Slaughter has been at the center of the push for reform. Last Thursday she received a chilling recorded message at her campaign office.

Assassinate is the word they used…toward the children of lawmakers who voted yes.”

The FBI is now investigating.
Baby killers!! Oh, wait: IOKIYAR.

Unhinged nutbar out-stupids himself

Glenn Beck shouts "How dare you" to John Lewis for comparing himself to civil rights marchers. That's noted civil rights activist John Lewis.

"Know what this is?" [Beck] asked, showing a photo from Sunday on the screen, before flashing to a picture of a civil rights sit-in. "They locked arms, because they wanted to compare themselves to the civil rights activists. How dare you! Look at these people! They refused to get up!"

The picture he showed from Sunday, the one that so outraged him, featured House Speaker Nancy Pelosi walking arm-in-arm with Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga. Who, of course, was a leading civil rights activist in the 1960s.

Correction

Yesterday's tweets from John Boehner were actually from his even more evil twin "GOPBoner". Here's one from today: the volcanic eruption on Iceland is “GOD's revenge for Obamacare.”

Funny, I can't tell the difference!

Is he still talking??

Bill Kristol believes the healthcare bill will be repealed by 2013. Which means we can rest assured knowing healthcare reform will stand for all eternity.

Even funnier? Kristol says the GOP should repeal the healthcare reform bill "before the public gets to like it."

We’re through working wiv you guys! We’re going home!

McCain: ‘Expect no cooperation from GOP, you poopyheads’

So, more of the same, then.

Democrats shouldn't expect cooperation from the Party of No the rest of this year, Senile John McCain warned [sic] Monday.

"There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year," McCain said. "They have poisoned the well in what they've done and how they've done it."
This was so fucking off the wall he even managed to totally piss off Harry Reid:
“For someone who campaigned on ‘Country First’ and claims to take great pride in bipartisanship, it’s absolutely bizarre for Senator McCain to tell the American people he is going to take his ball and go home until the next election. He must be living in some parallel universe because the fact is, with very few exceptions, we’ve gotten very little cooperation from Senate Republicans in recent years.
OMG, he did NOT so go there!
“At a time when our economy is suffering and we’re fighting two wars, the American people need Senator McCain and his fellow Republicans to start working with us to confront the challenges facing our country—not reiterating their constant opposition to helping working families when they need it most.”
Holy fucking damn. Hold on, I have to see that again…
“For someone who campaigned on ‘Country First’ and claims to take great pride in bipartisanship, it’s absolutely bizarre for Senator McCain to tell the American people he is going to take his ball and go home until the next election. He must be living in some parallel universe because the fact is, with very few exceptions, we’ve gotten very little cooperation from Senate Republicans in recent years.”
Sigh. That was beautiful.

Right.

Op-Ed columnist: An absence of class in the G.O.P.

Party of lowlife bigots should rot in Hell, the sooner the better.

"[I]t is time for every American of good will to hold the Republican Party accountable for its role in tolerating, shielding and encouraging foul, mean-spirited and bigoted behavior in its ranks and among its strongest supporters… It’s long past time to acknowledge that a party that promotes ignorance and provides a safe house for bigotry cannot serve the best interests of our country."
-- Why do republicans hate America? Lots more here.

Aaaaaaaaaand the good news just keeps rolling in today

Ari “the Liar” Fleischer quits his PR job for Tiger Woods because Ari's legacy was so bad it harmed Tiger’s rehabilitation.

FoxSports reports that Fleischer “fell on his sword because he felt he was becoming the story“: “Fleischer’s legacy, whether fairly or not, remains propagating Bush/Cheney myths — like Saddam Hussein attacked America on Sept. 11, 2001 — which Americans don’t want to hear. Having him in behind the curtain gave the impression Woods had something to hide, and that words were being fed to him.”
Oh, and that would be “fairly,” BTW.

11. Getting an orgasm from the schadenfreude

No matter what Not-So-Breitbrat and the rest of the rightwingnut media loons are saying, here are ten immediate effects of HCR.

More health care follies

  • The GOP, licking their wounds after their healthcare bill fiasco, regroups and forges ahead with bipartisan efforts on reform. Just kidding, they redesigned their website to feature Nancy Pelosi burning in Hell.

  • LOL: Jim Demint's Facebook page is being spammed with Waterloo videos.

  • With the passage of the HC bill, Mitt Romney is toast.

  • Glenn Beck: "Jesus Martinez" might favor health bill, but "not the Jesus from Nazareth that I know"

  • Help Rush Limbaugh make good on his promise to move to Costa Rica !

  • Fox’s Shep Smith confronts Michael Steele on GOP health care rhetoric: "Armageddon? Seriously?"

  • Tom DeLay protégé apologizes for acting like a Tom DeLay protégé

Texas Rep. Randy Neugebauer (pronounced TROG-loh-dyte) confesses that he was the douche who yelled "baby killer" during the healthcare debate.

"Last night was the climax of weeks and months of debate on a health care bill that my conservative constituents fear more than Lindsey Graham opening his purty mouth," Neugebauer said. "In the heat and emotion of the debate, I exclaimed the phrase 'it's a baby killer' in reference to the bill, not to my esteemed colleague Bart Stoopidhead. I meant to call him a ‘halfbaked bag of pony poop.’”

Fun fact: Nuttenbauer is also a birther.

    Hatin’ democritude

Or, ‘It’s not OK when you DeathPanelBabyKillingSocialistNaziCommieOligarhy Demoncraps do it!’

Eric Boehlert: Fox News, health care, and the right-wing nervous breakdown --

”This televised, incoherent meltdown has gone way beyond sore loserdom. Or even sore loserdom on steroids. Because apparently when conservatives lose consecutive nationwide election cycles, thereby allowing Democrats to set the legislative agenda, conservatives' objections render passing bills a criminal act, and "tyranny" threatens to topple our democracy. […] It's the kind of childish and hysterical reaction I didn't think we'd ever witness from a major political movement.”
-- The Pussy Party of No. More here.

    “A disastrous defeat for Republicans”

    One giant leap for mankind.

As the history of the past decade has demonstrated, rather than help less fortunate Americans obtain health insurance, Republicans preferred to give their "yes" votes to legislation giving tax cuts to the rich and to resolutions supporting illegal, immoral wars of aggression, such as the one they heartily supported in Iraq. With no sense of shame, Republicans put forth a health-care plan that extended coverage to a mere 3 million Americans.

Republicans would have you believe that their objections to the new Health-Care law were matters of principled disagreement - too costly, too much government interference, et cetera. However, anyone inclined to believe such assertions should not only recall their support for the expensive war in Iraq and the budget busting tax cuts for the rich, but also the question raised repeatedly by Chris Matthews: If Republicans are, indeed, genuinely concerned about getting near universal health care right, why didn't they offer and pass health care reform, when they controlled the both houses of congress and the presidency? They had total control for most of 2001 to 2006.
    Dude.

The rightwing media is comparing the passage of the health care legislation to historical events including the Black Plague, the attack on Pearl Harbor, Bloody Sunday, the passage of the Stamp Act, the federal government's refusal to bail out New York City in the 1970's, the Jonestown massacre, the repeal of slavery, the Columbine shootings, the Battle of Hastings, the breakup of the Beatles, Custer’s last stand, the introduction of New Coke, the death of Ronald Reagan, the battle of Thermopylae, The Day The Music Died and the entire eight years of the Bush Misadministration.

Paul Krugman weighs in: “On the eve of the big vote, Republican members of Congress warned that ‘freedom dies a little bit today’ and accused Democrats of ‘totalitarian tactics’ -- which I believe means the process known as ‘voting.’”

    Indeed.
