NAPOLEON BONEHEAD'S SECRET WAR
There is a vague, uneasy sense in the nation that we are going to war with Iraq soon. Congress has called upon the administration to discuss its plans, but the White House won't play, saying it doesn't want Saddam Hussein to learn its secret war plans on C-SPAN.

That's a bit disingenuous. Congress doesn't want to know where Mr. Bush wants to put his tanks. It wants to know how Mr. Bush plans to overthrow Mr. Hussein without any help from anyone else, in defiance of our every Arab and European ally, whether we've considered the repercussions for Israel, for Egypt, for Iran, whether we're prepared for a wider war in the Middle East, if it comes to that. It wants to know whether our troops are ready to fight in the presence of chemical, biological, even nuclear weapons. It wants to know how we plan to manage the inevitable disruption in the flow of oil and protect ourselves from terrorist reprisals. And it wants to know what the end game is, what kind of government we plan to install after we've crushed Mr. Hussein.

Congress has a right to ask these questions and to expect answers. - Read more here.
