Maybe I should just go back to bed
"By firing O'Neill and Lindsey, the president has finally managed to create the first two new jobs in his two-year administration." - email on Crossfire's fire back segment.
Trent Lott "prefers to be regarded as a sleazy hustler, and who can blame him? That's by far the more attractive side of his character." - Joe Conason.
"Today, another Republican judge has decided that, once in office, Bush and Cheney can operate in complete secrecy with no oversight by Congress." - Henry Waxman, on Dick 'Chicanery' Cheney's Energy Task Force.
"Lott's comment, according to the Washington Post, was met by 'an audible gasp and general silence.' But perhaps even more surprising is how that stunned silence extended all the way to the Democratic Party." - Salon's Anthony York. Puh - why should that be a surprise? The November election didn't change a thing: the Dems are still chickenshit pussies.
"He thought it was a social occasion," Boob Novak said of Trent 'two squirrels had to die so I could have this hair' Lott on Meet the Press. "He's thinking what comes to his mind. He's saying - if you listen to the whole speech, he's making extravagant statements about Strom Thurmond, as he should on his 100th birthday." Novak blamed the press of picking "up something that's said at a birthday party and turn it into a case of whether he should be impeached."
Here's Boob again, on last night's Crossfire: "This was just the most disgraceful thing by the news media. But it was really - it was just a lot of fun and he got carried away."
The hypocrisy of the repuke party is unbelievable. They're still trashing the Dems for the Paul Wellstone memorial service, but Lott's comments are just pooh-poohed as being 'extravagant' and 'good-natured hyperbole.' Oh, and if anyone has any pics of pink tutus, please send them in.
