Correspondent Peter Arnett should be "tried as a traitor" for remarks he made in an interview with Iraqi state television, Sen./bunghole Jim Bunning, R-Insane., said Tuesday.

Arnett, a New Zealand native and naturalized U.S. citizen, said in the Sunday interview that the Bushies' "first war plan has just failed because of Iraqi resistance. Clearly, the American war planners misjudged the determination of the Iraqi forces."

'If terrorists hate us for our freedom, as the president suggests, then acts that curtail that freedom are acts that give aid and comfort to our stated enemies, the terrorists. These acts are by definition treasonable. So your comments regarding Peter Arnett, a professional journalist giving an interview to Iraqi journalists and stating that which had already been stated in American media, coming from a US Senator, is a serious diminution of American liberties as defined by the US Constitution's first amendment.
