Pentagon rejects media claim Lynch rescue was hyped
Defense officials said on Friday the Pentagon was insulted by media claims the rescue of Jessica Lynch in Iraq was hyped to boost support for the war as questions swirled over the private's capture, her rescue and injuries.
This is a weird one. Almost as soon as it had happened, the internet was flooded with conflicting stories from the hospital staff.
Then there's this: 'a British Broadcasting Corp. documentary concluded after interviewing Iraqis that the rescue was a Hollywood-style stunt designed to boost patriotism at a difficult time in the war.' And I could swear that earlier in the week I saw a story from a TX paper saying she was being held incommunicado in a hospital.
Talk about synchronicity: just got this via email, from xbox: Jessica Lynch 'rescue' a crock.
The plot thickens...
