Dems: GOP is starving the inquiry into WMD lies
Democrats on the Senate and House Select Intelligence Committees say their panels do not have enough resources to investigate allegations that the Bush Cartel manipulated evidence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq to justify an invasion.
These lawmakers say the committees’ regular staff is too small and saddled with too many additional responsibilities to evaluate accurately whether the administration properly reported evidence of these weapons — or the lack thereof — to Congress.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, House republicans defeated two Democrat-sponsored amendments to broaden the investigation into the misadministration’s handling of evidence of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.
One amendment would have required the General Accounting Office to investigate what information U.S. intelligence shared with U.N. weapons inspectors before the war. A second would have authorized the CIA’s inspector general to audit communications between Dick 'Chicanery' Cheney’s staff and CIA analysts.
Rep. George Miller (D-Calif.) said lying about evidence of weapons of mass destruction would be grounds for impeaching serial liar/war deserter pResident Evil or other members of the administration.
