Lying for the Bush misadministration means never having to say you're in prison
Mahdi Obeidi, the Iraqi scientist who made headlines back in June when he turned over parts of a gas centrifuge that were buried under a backyard rosebush, has been telling CIA investigators that Colin Powell's much-discussed dastardly aluminum tubes had nothing to do with nuclear weapons development.

Now it turns out he's being held against his will in Kuwait - apparently because he won't 'come clean' about the aluminum tubes, the alleged Iraqi nuclear weapons program and the so-called chemical and biological weapons stocks. The Bushies have been holding him for two months, apparently because the answers he's giving them aren't the ones they want to hear.

"The one thing that no one wants is for Obeidi to make it to the United States where he's liable to end up on Larry King Live telling a story that would, to put it mildly, be very unhelpful to the White House. That means it's in everyone's interest - or at least in the White House's and CIA's interest - to keep Obeidi on ice in Kuwait." - from Josh Marshall.

Ebay A-holes
From The Hamster and gfrogglet:
Ebay has refused to list Canadian artist John Steins' anti-Bush playing cards. Ebay banned the cards after "receiving complaints from pro-Bush Americans."

Ebay, however, has no problem listing:

  • "ANTI CLINTON POLITICAL CAMPAIGN BUTTONS"
  • "Super Anti Clinton & Carter Slogan Pinback"
  • "Two Great Anti - Clinton Pinbacks"
  • "DEMOCRATS SUCK WATCH-REPUBLICAN,REPUBLICANS "

Maybe they should hear from pro-democracy Americans, hmmmmmm?
