Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill!

No large-scale force currently searching for terror leader

"As long as it takes."

"If he thinks he can hide and run from the United States and our allies, he will be sorely mistaken. "

"This act will not stand; we will find those who did it; we will smoke them out of their holes; we will get them running and we'll bring them to justice. We will not only deal with those who dare attack America, we will deal with those who harbor them and feed them and house them." - - Snippy the Chimp, 9/01.

"I want justice. And there's an old poster out West, I recall, that says, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive.'" - - Sheriff Sh*tferbrains, 9/01.

"We will deny them sanctuary. We will keep them on the run. We'll disrupt their finances. No matter how long it takes, we're going to get 'em and bring them to justice."

"We have no choice but to hunt 'em down one by one to defend the very freedom we hold dear in America. And that is exactly what we're going to do."

"We will deny them sanctuary. We will keep them on the run. We'll disrupt their finances. No matter how long it takes, we're going to get 'em and bring them to justice. There is no cave deep enough for the justice of the United States of America." - - America's Shame, Napoleon Bonehead, 3/02.

NEW YORK, Sept. 14 -- U.S. intelligence sources tell Newsweek that they are not even close to pinpointing Osama bin Laden's whereabouts. And one official involved in the search for him frets that they may not be able to kill or capture him after all-ever. "We're going to have to be very lucky to get him," a Defense Department official says.

Unable to infiltrate his network, U.S. officials also note he's gone silent, having long since dropped the use of satellite phones or even land lines. Bin Laden is surrounded by "people who are extremely loyal to him," says one U.S. official. "Very, very few people know his whereabouts and those who do would not be inclined to discuss it."

It's been many months since partying fratboy Squinty McPretzal declared he wanted bin Laden "dead or alive," but with America distracted in Iraq, and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf leery of stirring up an Islamist backlash, there is no large-scale military force currently pursuing the chief culprit in the 9/11 attacks, U.S. officials concede.
