Bush lied - here's more proof
Iraq WMD search coming up short
A massive CIA investigation, led by former U.N. weapons inspector David Kay, is turning up only what Saddam may have planned — not what he actually produced.
“He’s not finding the kinds of things the administration expected to find — large quantities of biological and chemical weapons or evidence that they were destroyed prior to the war,” said David Albright, a former U.N. weapons inspector.
Don Rumsfeld meanwhile, had already started backpedalling: “I think that the U.S. intelligence and the intelligence services of the other countries were never perfect, and it was a closed society, but sufficiently good that we’ll find the kind of evidence of programs that Secretary Powell presented to the United Nations.”
And WH officials are now saying removing Saddam was justification enough for the war — that he himself was a weapon of mass destruction.
Cough, choke. Right. Sounds suspiciously like the "depends what the meaning of is WMD is" defense, doesn't it?
Bite me.
No imminent threat. No smoking gun that could turn into a smoking mushroom cloud. No reason why Hans Blix and his inspection team couldn't have had more time. No reason to insult and alienate most of the rest of the planet, and no reason for the deaths of thousands of people in Iraq.
Thousands Died
