Trusting the murkin people
The Republican-led Senate defied a White House veto threat on Thursday by moving closer to approving a measure to reverse the administration's drive to allow media conglomerates to grow even bigger.
Senate debate opened with backers confident that next week they would win passage of the resolution to rescind recently relaxed media ownership limits. They also said they thought their counterparts in the U.S. House of Representatives would follow despite opposition by Republican leaders there.
The White House's Office of Management and Budget issued a statement: "If S.J. Res. 17 were presented to the President, his senior advisors would recommend that he veto it." - - link.
