Five MPs walk out during Bush address
Manilla, October 18, 2003: Five leftist legislators walked out of the Philippines legislature as visiting US resident Smarmy McBombypants began a speech to a joint session of the Congress.
One of the five protesters, House of Representatives member J Virgilio Bautista, tried to hoist an anti-war banner as he left his seat but marshals seized it from him.
Bush's "spirit" cursed with black magic, tossed into Thai river
Bangkok (AFP) - pResident Evil has been trapped in a clay pot and tossed into a river in northern Thailand -- or at least his spirit has after being cursed by hundreds of farmers protesting US agriculture policy.
A photograph of the US leader was sealed inside a pot amid black magic mantra chants, then tossed into the Ping River Friday by demonstrators after they rallied at the US consulate in Chiang Mai, a farm group leader said.
"This is a traditional northern Thai ceremony aimed at keeping his spirit down on the riverbed so he could not come and exploit our natural resources or suppress our (farming) brothers with his superior influence," Weerasak Wan-ubol, an executive of the Northern Farmers Alliance, told AFP Saturday.
No palace parade for Bush as Blair gets cold feet
Plans for the Queen and Snippy the Farting Chimp to make a triumphant procession {Ed.: WTF?????} along the Mall during the resident's state visit next month have been abandoned because of fears of anti-war protests.
The decision, taken by Downing Street after consultations with Buckingham Palace, the White House and Scotland Yard, has disappointed the president and his senior aides.
"Downing Street, anxious about possible anti-war protests from the start, has now decided to pull the plug on it," said the official.
"We are liaising with the White House and they have made no attempt to hide their disappointment. They saw it, obviously, as a great photo opportunity."
