More US call-ups likely for Iraq
In a major setback for the Bushies and our men and women in uniform, other countries have refused to provide cannon fodder troops for Iraq, making it virtually certain the US will have to send thousands more reservists early next year.
Bush misadministration officials had hoped the UN action - the approval a new resolution last month - would persuade allies to send more forces. They were especially counting on Turkey. But Turkey's ambassador to the United States said Tuesday his country will not send troops without a significant change in the situation there, and without an explicit invitation from the US-appointed Iraqi Governing Council - some of whose members have vigorously opposed the idea. So we're sh*t out of luck.
Have we mentioned the Bushies want to reinstate the draft?
Miserable failure
