Ashcroft steps down from CIA leak probe
Ashcroft decides "in an abundance of caution" to step aside from the investigation, and names Patrick Fitzgerald, the U.S. attorney in Chicago, to lead the investigation.
"About f*cking time," said Sen. Charles Schumer.
But Sen. John Kerry called Fitzgerald's appointment "a half measure and nowhere good enough to restore public confidence in this tarnished agency."
