Misadministration tries to ignore questions on lack of Iraq weapons
The White House retreated Monday from its claims that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

When asked about chief US weapons inspector David Kay 's remarks, WH spokes-hamster Scott McClellan avoided the question.

Instead, incredibly, he again lied:

"Saddam Hussein's regime had weapons of mass destruction, they used weapons of mass destruction on its neighbors and on his own people, and they failed to account for the weapons and weapons programs...Saddam Hussein chose continued defiance even when the United Nations gave him one final opportunity to comply, or face serious consequences. Given his history and given the events of Sept. 11, we could not afford to rely on the good intentions of Saddam Hussein."

The arrogance of this administration is breathtaking.

He never answered this one, either:
"Scott, this is a very narrow question. It has nothing to do with why we went to war, accepting the premise that it was good to go to war with Iraq. We're going to put that on the table. With regards to large stockpiles of WMD, Kay has now said he doubts it; Powell has now said that he allows for the possibility there never were any; Senator Roberts, head of the Intel Committee, now says the same thing. What is the President's position on that very narrow issue, as whether there were large stockpiles of WMD in Iraq?"

From the campaign trail, John Kerry said Bush had misled the nation. "When the president of the United States looks at you and tells you something, there should be some trust. He's broken every one of those promises."

Howard Dean said, "The White House has not been candid with the American people about virtually anything with the Iraq war."

"What do you do, Mr Number 2?" "That's my business" .....
Even Dick 'dick' Cheney, meeting in Rome with Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi, did not answer when a reporter asked if he felt prewar intelligence was faulty.

Meanwhile, Attorney General/nut Jesus John Ashcroft insisted Monday that Saddam's past use of "evil chemistry" and "evil biology" justified the war in Iraq even if no weapons of mass destruction are ever found.

Judge not lest ye be judged, John.

Oh, and BTW? Three more US soldiers were killed and one was wounded in an explosion west of Baghdad today. Two Iraqi civilians were also killed. I don't know how you sleep at night.
