Bush's abysmal failure
- "Bush took American political discourse to a new low last week when his re-election campaign began airing television commercials that exploit the horror and misery of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The president's willingness to pick at the still open wounds of that tragedy in a crass appeal for political support illustrates the desperation of the man and his political team to cling to power."
- "How perfect the irony, how sordid the scam. The president, who ignored the Al Qaeda threat before Sept. 11, 2001, who diverted public attention in that horror's aftermath to the nonexistent threat from Iraq and who has stonewalled the investigation of 9/11, now seeks to exploit that tragedy as a reelection gimmick. George W. Bush avoids being photographed with the dead and injured from his folly in Iraq, but hey, those flag-draped coffins of 9/11 victims make great TV ads. What a grisly low in political exploitation." - a must-read by Robert Scheer.
- "How this administration handled that day, as well as the war on terror, is worthy of discussion. And I look forward to discussing that with the American people. And I look forward to the debate about who is best to lead this country in the war on terror." - incompetent smackhead Smirky McGolfcart.
You sat in a classroom while thousands died.
You fled on Air Force One, then bunker-hopped across the country squealing that the terrists were after you.
You let Osama's family leave the US.
You ignored warnings from the departing Clinton administration that Al Qaeda was a real and growing threat.
You were warned by the CIA a month before 9/11 that attacks were being planned.
You have failed to secure the infrastructure.
You have underfunded first responders.
You covered up the report of the warnings to health conditions in NYC near Ground Zero.
You allowed dirty-bomb material to be looted from Iraq.
The number of bombings by Al Qaeda have increased since you began your 'war on terra.'
Fun fact: John Kerry yesterday proposed a series of monthly "issues" debates with the Lying Disaster Monkey
