I couldn't watch. I was in enough pain. I turned on CNN afterwards, but immediately switched back to Dung Beetles: Is There Nothing They Can't Do? when I saw Paula 'Duh?' Zahn interviewing republicans Mitch 'it's Clairol!' McConnell and Joe the Loser Lieberman (snort).
Bush offered no exit strategy for bringing 138,000 American soldiers home, pledging instead to send more, if necessary.
"Terrorists will not determine the future of Iraq," Bush declared. "The terrorists and Saddam loyalists would rather see many Iraqis die than have any live in freedom."
Other nations have not been stepping forward to make new pledges of military or humanitarian help. Still, Bush said, "Despite past disagreements, most nations have indicated strong support for the success of a free Iraq, and I am confident they will share in the responsibility of assuring that success."
