Ashcroft refuses to furnish torture memo
US Attorney General/raving loony Crisco John Ashcroft has refused to hand over to Congress copies of the Justice Department memo that advised the White House that torture during interrogations was not only justified, it was even blessed by the holy baby Jebus.
"We believe that to provide this kind of information would impair the ability of advice-giving in the executive branch to be candid, forthright, thorough and accurate at all times," Ashcroft said with a straight face. "Congress has the right to ask whatever questions it wants," he added. "But they ain't gonna get it. Mmmmmwwwaaaaaaahahahaha."
