Arlen Specter (R-PA), who was against the appointing of anti-Roe v. Wade judges to the Supreme Court before he was for it, may have been threatened by the loss of the Judiciary Committee chairmanship if he didn't recant.
Puh - if anyone was counting on "moderate republicans" to help rein in the radical, rabid Jebusbots, count again. Anyone who doesn't follow the party line will be first marginalized, then eliminated.
