I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise, though.

This is according to cousins from the D.C. area who were visiting this week. They told us that they know a guy who is an A.P. Washington reporter. He told them that people have no idea how bad things are over at the W.H. -- he said the reporters know stories that would make your hair stand on end, real scandals (I pressed, but my cousin said his friend wouldn't elaborate). The reporter said, however, that they are all terrified of this Administration--the certain revenge that would be carried out if they printed any of this stuff.

So, first of all, I am dying to know what these scandals are, but more importantly, how is this democracy to survive when the "free press" is no longer free?
