Blasts rock central London
Two confirmed dead in London blasts, 185 wounded.

Half a dozen explosions rocked the London subway and tore open a packed double-decker bus during the morning rush hour Thursday, police said. The blasts killed at least two people and injured scores in what a shaken Prime Minister/poodle Tony Blair said was a series of "barbaric" terrorist attacks coinciding with the opening of the G-8 summit.

British police told the Israeli Embassy in London minutes before the explosions they had received warnings of possible terror attacks in the city, a senior Israeli official said. Israel was holding an economic conference near the scene of one of the explosions.

Blasts fit al Qaeda-type pattern, analysts say.

A group calling itself the "Secret Organisation - al-Qaeda in Europe" has posted a claim of responsibility.
