Most politicians realized Election Day was Tuesday. President Bush is operating on a different calendar. He chose to deliver a campaign speech on Veterans Day. With his poll numbers at record lows and a senior White House aide forced to resign after being indicted, the president is trying to deflect criticism of the war from the West Wing. He won't succeed.
