Birds of a feather
Representatives Roy Blunt of Missouri and John Boehner of Ohio have been key intermediaries between rethugs and lobbyists since 1995. Now, with both men vying to succeed corrupt scumbag Tom DeLay as House majority leader, those ties may loom as an issue...
The election to replace indicted, criminally dirty pusbag DeLay comes as the GOP is reeling from poor standing in opinion polls, the wake of Jack Abramoff's guilty pleas on federal conspiracy, tax evasion and mail fraud charges in a congressional influence-peddling investigation, and the increasingly x-treme flatulence by a distraught Denny "yes, Mr DeLay" Hastert.
Some Republicans have grumbled that both Blunt and Boehner are too close to Washington's lobbying community and that neither has the fresh, untainted scent that the GOP needs in the wake of DeLay's many ethical problems and the Abramoff scandal.
House GOP aides say pressure is mounting on Blunt to vacate the whip post regardless of whether he becomes the majority leader.
"Guy smells worse than five-day-old blowfish," said Rep. Mike Okhurtz.
