Bigot goes on damage control

In deep (ma)caca: Sen. George Allen on Tuesday sought to contain the political damage from remarks he made to a Fairfax County man that dredged up charges of racial insensitivity -- allegations that have dogged him for years as high-school student, college student, busboy, Chippendales performer, Virginia delegate, governor, senator and now presidential hopeful.
In a statement, Allen said that "Macaca" was a play on "mohawk," because of Dem aide SR Sidarth's hairstyle - which it in no way resembles. Nice try, asshole.
Update: Sen. Allen's sister: "My brother is a violent, bigoted enema-bag who enjoys making others suffer."
