More "values"

Wow, I'm slowly figuring out that I have no "values" at all, according to the "Values Voter Summit." After the gathered Nutbag-Americans heard that Hillary Clinton is a more desirable Democratic nominee than Lucifer and that God the Father will ensure the return of a GOP Congress to Washington, the assembled turned their attention to the most pressing issue of all--Iraq? Er, no. Civil rights and privacy? Um, try again. Gay-baiting? Yep, you got it right.

Bishop Wellington Boone:

This matter of gay — I want the gays mad at me.

“You’re a sissy!” That means you don’t stand up for principles. And I just believe that God hasn’t called us to be sissies on a principle level. We’re called to be, to stand up and be men. I’m not talking about as in gender. I’m talking about man of God, men in the marketplace, and when a U.S. senator or congressman says that he wants me to vote for them, and he’s not biblically based — if he doesn’t have God as his Lord, how can somebody that doesn’t feel the need for God lead me?

It's okay with me if the theocons want to have their party in their own little echo chamber, but when the White House Press Secretary and the Attorney General of the United States are present at the party, then I start to get cranky about this separation of church and state thing. Remember that?
