War pigs
It is an axiom of Karl Rove, the president's political [asswiper], that when you're under attack, you counterattack, often in several directions at once, and usually under cover of your own political base. Thus, with polls showing a majority of the American public now saying it has lost confidence in the president's policies in Iraq, and with Republican congressional candidates edging away from the president, the administration counterattacked....
Thus, in just a few short years, Iraq has gone from a war about eliminating Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction and planting democracy in the Middle East, to a do-or-die stand against the formation of a worldwide terrorist empire. Talk about mission creep.
And furthermore, no one is allowed to challenge this version of truth, lest he be painted as an un-American media dupe of the sinister terrorist PR machine.
You'd think, given their track record, there wouldn't be more than a handful of Americans who still believe anything the dogs of war say. Alas, George W. Bush is one of them, and that's the real problem.
