US deaths surge in Iraq
US military casualties have surged in Iraq in recent weeks, with troops engaging in perilous urban sweeps to curb sectarian violence in Baghdad while facing unrelenting violence elsewhere.In other punctuation news, 25 Iraqi police officers are "lost" each day to death or permanent injury, says a US security advisor.
