Get a clue, Toolhead McTheocrat: marriage always was a man-made institution in the West, until the Catholic Church decided to co-opt it in the 13th century. And the laws that govern it are still civil, not religious, since we don't live in a theocracy. If you want to find out what it's like to live in one of those, vote Republican, or go visit Iran.
