My last shred of idealism

I used to grudgingly admire Condoleezza Rice, because I believed she was extremely intelligent, even if she did harbor all kinds of (to me) repulsive political views. I haven't admired her for a long time, so one can't say that her declaration of love for the onscreen personnel of Fox "News" disillusions me, but it does make me think that she's either a) got a brain fungus b) exchanged said brain for neocon ideology, which amounts to the same thing as a).

Come on, Ms. Rice! You were a Soviet specialist. Did you *heart* Pravda before 1991? No, because it was a scum-spewing Communist tool, as was the rest of the Soviet press. Fox "News" is even worse. At least Pravda had "Organ of the Central Committee of the Soviet Union" printed at the top, but Fox "News" pretends to be part of a free press instead of an organ of the neocon wing of the Republican party. (Also: a lot of smaller organs work there. Hee.)

If they let her go back to being provost of Stanford in 2009, or if she gets some other academic job that is even remotely related to forming young minds, I'll be fucking pissed off.
