Surge!
Death toll of US troops in Iraq rising. More have been killed during the past four months than at any other four-month period since the war began, reports the AP.

Not since the bloody battle for Fallujah in 2004 has the death toll spiked so high.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon may be underreporting the casualty figures.

Update: The military confirms that a transport helicopter was shot down in Iraq today, killing 7 troops.

Bonus: There is not enough equipment to protect our troops being sent over in Awol's surge-escalation.
