"Bush's offer to have his aides, including longtime confidant Karl Rove, talk to congressional committees in private and not under oath was hooted down by Democrats. 'We could meet at the local pub!'" scoffed House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers." LOL
Karl gets another cold one.

Fun Factoid: During President Bill Clinton's final six years, the Republican-led majority in Congress issued more than 1,000 subpoenas to the White House; during Mr. Bush's first term, the Republicans issued none. Of course, this is the same Republican majority that took 140 hours of sworn testimony about alleged misuse of the Clintons' Christmas card list but a mere 12 hours on the Abu Ghraib prison scandal.
Another stunning fact, UL! Facts like this give lie to some peoples' equivocation that 'Oh, it's all just politics -- the Republicans do it and then the Democrats do it'. No, the Republicans do it in MASSIVE amounts, often in a blatently ILLEGAL, IMMORAL manner, whereas the Dems may do it a few times in a more-or-less straightforward, honest manner (though they're not saints -- out political system culls out 'saints' long before the primaries).
Another example of Reboob hypocrisy I would also add was the Republicans corruption of the 'special prosecutor' position by making it simply a standing 'Grand Inquisitor' of the Clintons, and Ken Starr's 7 year odyssey cost at least $40 MILLION of taxpayers money (some accounts list it as high as $60M)for a witch hunt that could only come up with an embarrassing but not illegal sexual act which the Reboobs parlayed into the 'crime of the century' when Clinton foolishly denied it under oath. Now when the Democrats -- with a WHOLE lot of just-cause -- attempt to investigate the malfeasance of "W", all we hear are the right-wings anguished cries of 'politics'.
Hell, they can all come over to my house for the "informal" hearings. If there's nothing on record, no one will be able to prove that a squeezed Rove's nuts during his testimony. It's a great way to get the truth. I'm feeling patriotic anyway.
