From MetaFilter, on Cheney's recent refusal to be identified as himself in a press interview on the way back from Pakistan:
It would be awesome if he started using a fuzzy hand puppet at all of his press conferences. "Fuck you, Helen! Direct your damned questions to Mr. Brambles or I'm hauling my entourage back to the bunker!"
What do y'all think? Is Cheney just honing his asshole skills (already highly developed), or is he on the fast train to Paranoialand?
Sometimes I think the whole lot of them will flee to South America after the '08 election. (NOT to Argentina. Hee hee.)
Mr. Brambles is friendly, as long as you don't fuck with me. Er, him. Ah, whatever.

I find it interesting from a strictly academic viewpoint that all the tearing of hair and screaming about how endangered by terror America is did at first scare Americans. It did seem to cow Congress into acting like cloned imbeciles, too. But large segments of America do seem to be waking from the nightmare and going 'Wtf is WITH you guys?" Oddly, call it karma, magical 'as above so below' or pay back is a bitch...the perpetrators of the "great lie" are now the ones caught in its grip like a bear in a trap. They ARE buying their own paranoia shtick totally. I do think they are more than a bit over the sanity line. It would be funny to watch if these self-lobotmized sorts were not in power and capable of wrecking lives for two more freakin' years.
He Who Must Not Be Named is just trying to make it harder to google his remarks on the WH website. He's just fucking with us.
I love the hand puppet idea!
Bush also styles himself as a "senior administration official" when he is giving interviews.
