They are committed to the assumption that people are incompetent, and they are committed to controlling government to run people's lives. Conservatives are not. Conservatives do not think government should run people. Government should get out of the way as much as possible. So for conservatives to battle libs for the government is already a bit a contradiction. When conservatives get hold of the government, the idea is to slow it down."
