Senate Republicans browbeat Gonzales into submission
In other news, Senate Republicans finally did one of their fucking jobs, for crying out loud.

Senior republicans delivered scathing criticism of [Bush's pet] Attorney General Alberto Gonzales for his handling of the firing of eight US attorneys, joining Democrats in chagrin that the prosecutors were dismissed without adequate explanation. Sen. Arlen Specter, the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee, seemed to suggest that Gonzales's tenure may not last through the remainder of President Bush's term.
