Newt Gingrinch blames the Katrina disaster on ... the victims

"How can you have the mess we have in New Orleans, and not have had deep investigations of the federal government, the state government, the city government, and the failure of citizenship in the Ninth Ward, where 22,000 people were so uneducated and so unprepared, they literally couldn't get out of the way of a hurricane."
Yes, you read that right, he called for a "deep investigation" into the "failure of citizenship" of the victims.

I'd suggest that Newt is a conservative "canary in the mine", and certain elements keep him well-fed and on air, to calculate the precise moment the masses awaken, and rip him to shreds.

Using such logic, Bush can now start blaming all those Iraqi civilians that got killed for not getting out of the way of the bombs, motor shell, car bombs and death squads.
